The South African Informal Traders Association (SAITA) today announced the launch of their
Business person of the Year competition. SAITA, a registered NPC promotes the development and advancement of the South African Informal Sector ensuring that her members are recognised as valuable contributors to the South African economy. COVID-19 has hit this sector particularly hard, and a campaign such as this will stimulate the sector and help informal businesses navigate their way over the numerous hurdles over which they need to jump from the informal, to the formal sector so that their businesses grow.
The businessperson of the year competition is a 7-month campaign which will culminate with the announcement of the winner in September 2021. There will be different rounds to the competition, with competitors moving forward to the next round on successful completion of the task set in each round. R20million has already been secured from private sector to ensure that 10 000 micro and informal businesses are trained through this program, with further opportunities for partners to come on board. Formal launch being 15 March 2021. Entries can be submitted via the website: www.saita.org.za or on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/SAInformalTraders.
Every informal and micro enterprise has an opportunity and are encouraged to enter. The personal growth opportunity for every entrant is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and the prizes our winners stand to win are out of this world.
